Quail and pheasant hunting can be the most exciting hunting of all. As most bird hunting enthusiasts will tell you, hunting bird is a challenge - while birds are small creatures, they are smart creatures. And just because a bird is wounded doesn't mean you won the hunt. Both quails and pheasants have been known to run and hide even when they are hurt.
Here at Antler Creek Ranch we have a wide variety of quail and pheasant species. We offer top-notch dogs and experienced guides to make sure your quail* and pheasant* hunts are successful.
Quails:
A quail is a small, short-tailed Old World game bird resembling a tiny partridge. They typically have brown camouflaged plumage. Mainly ground-living birds, quails scrape for fruits and seeds and nest on the ground.
Pheasants:
Pheasants are characterized by their wattle heads, long tails, by the brilliant plumage and elaborate courtship displays of the male. They are all indigenous to Asia, chiefly India. They eats berries, seeds, young shoots, and insects and prefers open country with brush cover.
